About this treatment
In a hair transplant, healthy follicles are taken from the back of the scalp, where hair is resistant to balding, and placed in thinning areas.
What to expect
The procedure is done under local anaesthesia as a day-care procedure. Mild redness and small scabs settle within the first week. The transplanted hair sheds after a few weeks, which is normal, and new growth begins at around four months, with fuller results over the following months.
